Neural selectivity is an important principle of neural responding that helps with perception of specific features of our environment. Two hypotheses attempt to explain the development of such selectivity: evolution (built-in capabilities) and experience (learning). compare and contrast the two ideas and make an argument for the one that you feel best explains the principle.
