A heat exchanger at an industrial plant uses river water to condense 2x10^5 kg/h of steam from saturated vapor to saturated liquid at a pressure of 10 kPa. Measurements indicate that the river has a volumetric flow rate of 2x10^5 m3/h and a temperature of 15 degrees C upstream of the plant. Neglecting changes in kinetic and potential engery and assuming steady state operation, determine the river water temperature downstream of the plant, in degrees C. Assume that the river water properties can be approximated using tabular data for water and approximate the enthalpy of any compressed liquid staes using the expression h(T,p)=hf(T).
