One study 2018 explains that "The Outdoor Foundation studies have consistently found a strong correlation between participation in outdoor recreation and fitness and health among young people. Those who had at least some level of participation in outdoor activities reported an average fitness level of 6.4 out of 10. In contrast, those who did not participate in outdoor activities averaged only 5.1 out of 10. Outdoor recreation also seems to have significant benefits for overall quality of health. Outdoor recreation participants rated their overall health at an average of 7.5 out of 10, whereas non participants were only at 6.5 out of 10" (Berger, 3). Community parks create stronger communities. A place to exercise, gather and connect with neighbors of all ages and backgrounds.
