Description
This Assignment is due in Session 10 workshop and carries a weighting of 20%. To find the topic of your assignment, please consider the last digit of your student ID, the corresponding topic will be your topic. For example a student ID is s412345, the topic will be at Sr number 5 (Survey for Civil Construction - Machine Guidance, Set Out & As-Built Data). Students having 0 at the end of their ID will choose Topic at Sr number 10. You have to submit a 1000-3000 words report followed by an oral examination (viva voce).

Selected topic - Number 4
Each Student is to prepare and submit a report comprised Photographs, Pictures, Sketches and Diagrams. The report should include details of:
a) The purpose as related to Engineering Surveying, and Geomatics
b) Personnel involved and end-users
c) Equipment used including operation, calibration and maintenance
d) Specifications including tolerances, datum, legislation, regulations and standards where applicable
e) Data capture, processing, presentation, management and quality control.
The submission is to be presented to a professional standard and include references and bibliography and in line with VU policies on plagiarism and copyright.
Report Guidance
a) One assignment report is submitted per student and carries 20% of the total marks for this unit. Every student will be assessed with individual viva voce.
b) The maximum word limit in the main body is 3000 words (excluding table of contents, abstract, references, appendices and peer reflective statements). Each member is expected to contribute in writing. Please note that your report should be concise, describing all the required information.
c) Body text must be justified. Font type - Arial Narrow. Font size 12. Line spacing 1.5
d) Photographs, charts and tables must be appropriately labelled (e.g. Figure 01, Table 01,
etc....) and included in the Appendices.
e) All references must follow Author, year format. Any information which is not referenced will be considered as plagiarized information.
