A. Bearded lizards such as Pogona barbata use their beard to appear bigger and to scare or intimidate their predators. In the given situation, lizards with shorter beards may have failed to drive away dingos, their predators, while the lizards with longer beards successfully drove away their predators.

B. Stabilizing selection, which decreases genetic diversity, is the most probable type of selection acting on beard length of Pogona barbata and, because of this, natural selection will tend to favor those who are able to drive away their predatorswhich are the lizards with longer beards.
