Question: Haines Manufacturing Co. made farm equipment. A farmer was severely injured using one of the company's machines. Haines was notified of the accident. Because Haines did not believe it was responsible for the accident, Haines did not notify its insurance company even though the policy required it. When the farmer sued eleven months after the accident, Haines notified the insurance company. The insurance company claimed it was not liable. Must the insurance company cover the loss?
