Learning outcomes -

a) Think critically, analyse, interpret, process and communicate information.

c) Critically explore how disciplines and professions and their associated theories and practices as constructed, with alternative views and perspectives in the context of cultural histories, practices and processes.

Assessment Details and Instructions -

The purpose of this assessment task is for students to critically review four news articles published over the course of the trimester.

To complete this task students will select four news articles published over the course of the trimester that relate to the content of the unit.

For each article students will:

1. Write an overview of the article and justify how it relates to the unit content using theory and literature from the unit and wider authoritative sources.

2. Write a professional response to each article:

a. concerning how the content of the article, including theoretical and empirical perspectives are presented.

b. outlining the implications associated with the way/s the theoretical and empirical perspectives are presented.
