Question

The nurse is reviewing a patient's drug history before giving morning medications and asks the patient about allergies. The patient reports that a specific antibiotic causes an angry-looking red rash. This antibiotic is one of the medications the nurse was scheduled to administer. What should the nurse do? Call the provider, report this patient's statement, and discuss new orders. Delay the administration of this medication until the provider makes rounds.
