Morning Coffee

1. You will collect primary research data by creating a survey of ten of your friends/family. Develop eight questions to ask about their coffee use. Examples include "Do you drink coffee," "How many cups/day or week," or "How much do you spend day or week." Tabulate the results of your survey.

2. Secondary research - Next, research the size and scope of the coffee market in the U.S. or globally. Look for things such as the total revenue for the coffee market, and how the revenue breaks down between different categories (coffee shops, grocery store coffee, etc.). You can also look at expected growth rates and the amount of coffee consumed per capita, the largest coffee growing countries, and the breakdown of sales for different types of beans. 3. Secondary research about coffee competitors - Research the largest coffee companies in the U.S. or globally. It will include companies with coffee stores (Starbucks) or other brands selling coffee (Green Mountain).
