Question

The purpose of completing this lab was to use and get more comfortable with the tools and technologies we utilized. We were able to get more experience using two pieces of softwarecommonly used in the digital forensics industry, FTK Imager and Autopsy. FTK Imager createsdisk images. This tool is extremely important to forensic investigators because images allowthem to have the evidence without the potential of the hard evidence being destroyed, lost, orcorrupted. Images also allow you to recover deleted files to an extent (Damani, 2020). Autopsyis the GUI for The Sleuth Kit. It is an important tool for forensic investigators because it allowsfor hash filtering (important to produce in court), web artifacts, data carving, etc (Carrier, 2020).Completing this lab gave us the opportunity to use these important forensic tools andtechniques once again.
