Question

There are four common modifiable risk factors for chronic or noncommunicable diseases: smoking, lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, and alcohol use. Imagine that you are working for a health department who wants to make an impact on chronic disease rates in their community and you are asked to choose one of these factors to focus on. Choose the one you think you could most successfully modify, and explain why you think that one is the best choice as well as how you would intervene. For the sake of this thought experiment pretend resources are not an issue- so describe all of the rungs of the comprehensive approach you would take. Essentially, what would you do to address all of the layers of the social-ecological model? Depicts the social ecological model.
