Do you think that China's growth is sustainable? As Chinese citizens become more worldly and aware of living standards in other parts of the world, will they be happy to continue working for relatively low wages and in a non-democratic country? As an economy develops and citizens are empowered (socially, economically, personally) and as they develop a large and powerful middle class, I think that things will have to change. We can think back to our discussion of the modernization theory to further develop these ideas here.
