As a newly appointed General Manager of a MNC logistics company based in Asia, your boss, the Vice-President (Logistics and Facilities) would like you to explore the use of modern day management practices in the company. Specifically, the Vice-President has requested for a management plan that include: (1) macro environment analysis, (2) porter's five forces analysis, and (3) how the company could instill the four functions of management (planning, organizing, leading and controlling) across the organization. The student must apply the concepts in the context of an MNC logistics company based in Asia, and not just describe and repeat the theories learned in class. You are free to make assumptions about the logistics industry and the current business climate, which are all secondary in this assignment. What is important is that the aforementioned analyses and management principles are clearly outlined and discussed with respect to the company's situation.
