Mobile devices can certainly run a big part of a company but not to its entirety. Mobile devices are used to keep employees connected to each other and it also keeps they updated with emails and current events. I work for the 4th largest mobile company in the US and I just want to say, we operate mainly with our mobile devices. Not only do I have access to my emails but I have been designated to receive some emails on behalf of my manager. I have my cell phone to sync with my work email every 15 minutes to stay caught up. The restriction I found with my mobile device is I am unable to log on to our company intranet. That can only be accessed by the laptop that was given to me. If I do want to use it at home, I would need a VPN or else it won't work..for security reasons. Mobile devices have come a long ways and I believe that in the future, a company can operate fully using them.
