Question

Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 is an improved version of MDS 2.0 where it's able to accurately assess better & gather more information directly from residents. This improved version was based not only from clinicians who assessed residents but also considered input from residents and their families. As clinicians are trained to do their evaluation based on measurable assessment. Family members or caregivers give their input based on their subjective observations and interactions with the resident. What I appreciate more is giving importance to the residents. It gives voice to the residents on how they feel, what they can do and they want to be taken care of. It definitely shows respect to the residents' individuality. This MDS has been simplified for easy use to document response and in order to use it more accurately also for future electronic health records.
