2. Learning the best management practices to minimize the effect of those environmental impacts.

TASKS:

Every student is required to write about the impacts of the land transportation into the environment, and provide solutions in order to minimize those impacts. The case study report must include and discuss the following:

• Soil erosion and sedimentation, and water quality

o Discuss the effect of sediment into water quality parameters
o Best management practices
o Write about water pollutants due to transportation

• Air quality and noise
o Discuss the main gases produced, and their effects into the environment and climate change, and human health.
o Noise pollution and its impact into the human

• Ecological Impact
o Discuss how land transportation and highway construction affect ecological system
