Question

A 72-year-old woman awoke one morning with mild right-sided upper limb weakness and difficulty speaking. An oral motor examination revealed strength and range of motion of articulator muscles was WFL; however, she had difficulty performing non-oral motor movements such as blowing a kiss and licking her lips. Verbal imitation was moderately impaired with familiar words and sentences being better than low probability words and sentences. Speech errors were inconsistent, and consonant substitutions were more common than distortions. Voice quality and loudness were WNL.
