You are the charge nurse for a General Surgery unit. April, the unit Social Worker, shared with you that Jasmine, a member of your nursing staff, is concerned that a few of the Filipino nurses and CNAs continuously speak with each other in Tagalog. April reported, "Jasmine is concerned that the Filipino staff are speaking in Tagalog to each other on the floor. She has even mentioned it directly to them, saying, "I understand wanting to speak Tagalog on your breaks, but to do it in public makes people feel uncomfortable, and it's unprofessional."
April then says, "I and some other staff have already tried to say something to her, but she keeps saying it's "Not personal" and that "she just wants to create an inclusive environment for the patients and their families." I really think you need to say something to her."
You reassure April that you'll talk to Jasmine. She does seem to be trying to look out for the patients, which is the number one responsibility of health care staff.
