MGMT20140 - Design Thinking for Managers Assignment - CQ University, Australia
The task has two parts:
1. You are required to prepare a VISUALISATION which shows ONE aspect of your own personal key learning about the design mindset (this requires reflection and reference to the academic literature).
You will demonstrate this visualisation by using ONE of three methods - EITHER a poster, OR a journey map, OR a mind map,
2. You are required to prepare an accompanying explanatory REPORT
The Report must explain your visualisation AND justify your reasons for choosing the specific visualisation approach (this also requires reference to the academic literature).
In order to be successful in this task, you need to research the academic literature about the design mindset and visualisation in Design Thinking (you will have done some of this already for your other assignments) and you need to reflect upon your own personal development throughout this unit (again, you should have done this for other assignments).
You must then combine your reading of the literature with your personal reflection in the form of a meaningful visualisation (do not use more than 300 words) that tells the viewer about your one key learning (hint: you are required to provide ONE key learning point only, not everything you have learnt - you need to prioritise). You must then write an accompanying report (750 words +/- 10%), which explains your visualisation AND the reasons why you chose your specific approach(es) to visualisation.
The visualisation must contain a minimum of 5 scholarly, peer-reviewed references; these must be included as in-text references within the visualisation itself. The report must contain a further minimum of 5 scholarly, peer-reviewed references and in-text references. At the conclusion of the report, you should provide a reference list (APA style) with all references you have used in the submission. You may include a separate reference list in your visualisation itself, but for this SA, that is not a requirement.
The visualisation should be as self-explanatory as possible, but whatever is unclear on the visualisation needs to be clarified in the report. The report should be appropriately structured and presented in a professional report format (title page, exec summary, Table of Contents, heading and sub-headings etc.). Both visualisation and report should make use of 1st person writing.
