Based on the info below:
1. Write a section on Justification on why it's the best approach for our study
2. How we will contact members of sample:
We plan to use a variety of methods to approach contacting the members of the sample, ranging from: coordinating with hospital administration and third-party survey platforms where invitations will be posted on nurse-station bulletin boards, cafeterias, etc.
3. How we will collect our answers:
Online Surveys and questionnaires will be used to ask nurses how many nurses per unit and perception of their stress. The nurses are stratified according to characteristics likely to affect nurse-to-patient ratio and stress. These divisions will be the type of hospital (public vs private), unit type (e.g., medical-surgical, ICU, emergency), and shift type (day vs night). In each stratum, nurses will be randomly selected so that they are evenly represented across all strata. Qualitative interviews with a group of nurses to learn more about their experience and how nurse-to-patient ratios affect stress.
A sampling plan involves recruiting a representative group of nurses at hospitals across California to document differences in nurse-to-patient ratios and cross-sections. The only qualified applicants will be registered nurses (RNs) and assistants engaged.
