"Members of society borrow from other cultures to solve problems that they face in common." This means that people are influenced by cultural behavior within the same culture and abroad. Marketing is heavily influenced by cultures, economy and geographical areas. When a trend is recognized within different cultures it typically spreads pretty quickly and soon becomes recognized among other cultures. Another examples that shows how cultural trends spread is Music. It offers a universal message that spread like fire quickly among different cultures and different areas of the world.
The significance to marketing comes from being aware of culture impact to the marketing strategy. “Markets constantly change; they are not static but evolve, expand, and contract in response to marketing effort, economic conditions, and other cultural influences” (Cateora, 2010, pg. 96).
