Consider the technological advances that have happened in your lifetime. Some people love what technology now allows them to do, while others think technology is messing up some part of life. One thing that technology has made easier is using medication administration records (MAR) known as drug chart. Medication administration records has made technology easier because it is easier to look on the patient medication and the times they are scheduled to take or as needed. Medication administration records also helps check on the patient allergies for example if someone is allergic to a certain medication it is easy to see it on the drug chart instead of going to open the paper book. It also helps the person know if they have already administered scheduled medication or if they miss it. Another reason why it made technology easier is because you can see the dosage before administering the medication. It is also easy to reduce medication error for example most of medication administration records has a picture of the person and when the medication is given the picture color will turn black. It is also reduced time people send reading the orders before administering the medications. For example, I work in the nursing g home and I do use MAR (medication administration records) it saves a lot of time during medication administration. Finally, medication administration records (MAR ) has saved a lot time and made it easier to nurses, doctors and medication aide when it comes to passing the medication, check what type of the medication the patient check, code status and a lot more.
