A hiker measures the angle of elevation to the top of a cliff as 16.0o. She walks 1.20 km further away from the cliff on level ground, she finds the angle to be 11.0 o.

a) Draw a diagram of the problem - you may ignore the hiker's height. Use the variable y as the height of the cliff, and the variable x as the hiker's initial distance from the base of the cliff.

b) Write two trigonometric equations relating these variables and solve for the height of the cliff.
