The Scene
You are part of the CSI unit called to 1435 Spruce Street. A body was discovered at 7:45 am today in the bedroom of the home.

Blood, a footprint, a knife, and a cigarette butt - and the body of the victim, Mr Green - are in the room. It is your job to make a sketch of the scene as part of evidence documentation.

Instructions:
You will use this ruler to measure evidence in the crime scene on Slide 3.

This is a metric ruler - it is numbering centimeters

The dashes between numbers are millimeters.

There are ten dashes between each cm - so 1cm = 10mm

You will be measuring in mm.

Your sketch must Include:

• Case number (you make up)
• Date and time (now)
• Location
• Arrow to indicate north
• Sketch Artist
• Evidence numbers (you add)
• Key that correlates to evidence numbers

Include locations of door and window

Include furniture, but measurement not necessary

Measure to center of every piece of evidence (four items) at right angles to two nearest walls: write measurements on the sketch

Measure from the center of the victim's head

Sketch this crime scene
on the TOP HALF your folded paper.

You Make the Scene!
Choose four small items (size of your hand or so) to place in your crime scene.
Possible examples:
- Drink bottle / can
- Gum / food wrapper
- Small item of clothing / jewelry
- Cell phone
- Pencil / pen
- Piece of paper (‘important document') Place your items on the floor of a small room. Sketch your scene on the other half of your folded paper!
Be sure to include everything on slide 5!
