You will introduce your problem and clearly state your thesis, your hypothesis and your dependent and independent variables in the opening paragraph. Next you will write the literature review section, in which you will briefly discuss at least three psychological journal articles, showing how the previous published literature supports your hypothesis.

Next you will create a Methods section, and you will explain the Participants, the Materials, and the Procedure that you would use in this proposed experiment. Next, you will skip over the Results section, because you are not actually doing the experiment. You are only proposing how and why this experiment should be done.

You will not have any results to report, because you are not conducting the experiment. The final section of your paper will be the Discussion or Conclusion section in which you will discuss the possible limitations of the study (the problems you might encounter and how you will deal with them).

You will discuss the implications of your experiment, reminding the reader of the purpose of your study, explaining why the issue is worth investigating, and how this research might benefit the psychological community.
