Question: The assignment this week is to measure and record vital signs for a "mock patient". This will include Body Temperature, Pulse, Respiration, blood sugar and Blood Pressure. You will name your patient, give them an age, sex, and health problem. You will then document their vitals signs as if you had actually taken them in an office or hospital setting.
You will tell us in this paragraph if the vitals are normal or if they are abnormal and why or why not. You will also explain what the average "normal" vital signs are.
Example: Mr. John Doe is a Caucasian male Age 52, who comes to my office with complaints of headache and blurred vision. He has no previous history of any medical conditions other than asthma as a child. He states his mother had hypertension and that his father died at 80 of a heart attack. He does not go to the doctor on a regular basis. His vital signs today are Blood Pressure 200/100, Heart Rate 80, Respiratory Rate 16, Temp 98.9 F. Mr. John Doe has hypertension and should be treated with BP medication to lower his pressure. Definition of hypertension is elevated blood pressure with two or more readings greater than 120/80 after patient has sat for 5 minutes. Average according to American heart association is 140/90 for those without any risk factors such as coronary artery disease or diabetes and is proved in the JNC 8
