Project Description
The following picture illustrates a structure to be modeled in Abaqus/CAE. The structure is made of three planar beams with the dimensions, properties, boundary conditions and loads as shown in the picture.The two nodes in contact with the surface are clamped.
Your tasks are to:
1. Create a model of the structure
2. Assign material properties and
3. Create Sections and profile
4. Create Assembly and Mesh
5. Assign Step, Boundary Conditions and Loads
6. Create and Submit Job
7. Visualize results
The beams are made of steel with the following properties:
Young Modulus, E [GPa] Poisson's ratio,
200 0.3
Note that Abaqus has no built in units system, and is solely the responsibility of the user to input all parameters in what is called "consistent units". For your reference, in the following table, different sets of consistent units can be found. In this practical, system number 2 will be used.
