Question 1: In an experiment, a D.C. series motor is connected to 220 V supply. It takes an armature current of 25 A when running at 1000 rpm. Neglect the field coil resistance and given that the armature resistance=0.4 Ω, the flux is proportional to the field current, E = KNΦ and Torque = k IaΦ:i) Calculate the armature voltage of the motor. ii) Prove that the Torque is proportional to Ia2 iii) If a student wants to reduce the speed to 800 rpm with the torque reduced to 0.8 of its previous value:(a) Calculate the new value of armature current; (b) Additional resistor inserted in series with the motor.
Question 2: A 20 kW, 3-phase, 380V (Line volt), 4-pole, 50 Hz, delta-connected induction motor has a full load line current = 40A. The power factor at full load = 0.85.(a) Calculate the synchronous speed, (b) Calculate the input power and efficiency of the motor at full load. (c) If the gross mechanical loss = 652W and the rotor copper loss = 400W at full load,
Find the full load speed. Given the gross mechanical output = 3 I22 r2(1-s)/s

A pn-junction is formed in silicon by doping one side with acceptor atoms at concentration Na = 10^19 cm^(-3) and another side with donor atoms at Nd = 10^18 cm^(-3). What is the dopant concentration on the p-type side and on the n-type side
Briefly discuss the advantages of rotating field stationary armature system in synchronous machines.- Discuss the types of rotor construction in synchronous machines.
Some AC voltmeters provide dBm readings which are based on a 600 Ω reference resistance in addition to the l mW reference power. If an AC voltmeter reads 16 on its dBm scale, what is the rms value of the voltage that corresponds to this reading?
A certain pn junction is operating with Vt=26mV and ni=1.08x10^10 electrons/cm^3. The doping concentrations are Na=2x10^15 cm^-3 and Nd=9x10^16cm^-3. The diffusion coefficient are Dn=34cm^2/s and Dp=12cm^2/s.
how does the current mode control works in a boost converter if I assume induction current is sensed and used to generate thePWM. what is the transfer function ΔVc(s) / ΔIref(s),where Iref is the reference current given to the comparator
a load made up of a 100 ohm resistor in series with a 20 nF capacitor is connected across a 2400V (rms), 60 Hz voltage source. Find the complex power being delivered to the load and the power factor. state whether it is lagging or leading.
Compare the result with Figure 3.29 and comment on your observations.
a) Write the real-time expressions in the z=0 plane. What kind of polarization exists here Is is clockwise or counterclockwise (looking along +z) b) Find the expression for the accompanying H(z) field.
