Assessment - Entrepreneurial Start-up
Your task
Individually, you are required to record a 10-minute video in which you are to focus on an entrepreneurial start-up venture that your workshop facilitator will assign to you at the end of week 2 class. Please note that if you focus on any other start-up than the one your workshop facilitator provides, your submission will receive a grade of zero.
Assessment Description
In this individual assessment, students will be given an opportunity to analyse the entrepreneurial start- up process and demonstrate its real-world application by evaluating the internal and external environment for a business venture or service.
Assessment Instructions
Based on the assigned start-up, you must research and analyse the start-up entrepreneur's journey by considering how its venture was developed. More specifically, you must focus on the entrepreneur's approach to market validation and an initial assessment of risk, cost, opportunity and environmental factors.
Based on this analysis, you are then required to record a 10-minute video using accompanying slides (10-12) to assist your presentation delivery and display your research/references. The slides should contain the following sections:
- Overview of the start-up entrepreneur's journey.
- Entrepreneur's approach to market validation (Please include relevant examples).
- Entrepreneur's approach to initial assessment of risk, cost, opportunity and environmental factors.
- Reference List
In preparing this assessment, you will need to utilise theories/concepts taught in weeks 1 to 4 and use at least 10 sources of information and reference these in accordance with the Kaplan Harvard Referencing Style. These may include websites, government publications, industry reports, census data, journal articles, and newspaper articles. These references should be presented as in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your slides to support your video.
