Assessment 1
Discussion Participation
Guidelines
1. In this class, online discussion will count towards your overall grade for the course. The purpose of the discussion board is to frame and promote collabora- tive learning. Active and regular participation is not only important from the lecturer's point of view but is also important for you in learning the course content and in developing your thoughts and position on various topics.
2. You are expected to participate in at least 3 different forums. You should begin at least one thread and provide at least three posts in response to other participants' threads. Posting should be a minimum of one short paragraph and a maximum of two
paragraphs. Word totals for each post should be in the 100-200 words range.
3. During the discussion, when you agree or disagree explain why with supporting evidence and concepts from the readings or a related experience. Include a reference, link, or citation when appropriate.
4. During the discussion, be organized in your thoughts and ideas. Incorporate correlations with the assigned readings or topics. Stay on topic. Provide evidence of critical thinking in your responses or interactions Avoid summarizing.
5. During the discussion, contribute to the learning community by being creative in your approaches to topics, being relevant in the presented viewpoints, and attempting to motivate the discussion.
6. During discussion, be aware of grammar and sentence mechanics. Use proper etiquette.
7. Remember that being respectful is critical at all times in the classroom, online and during forum chat discussions.
The Assessor will be asses you on the following
Discussion and Participation:
a. Is made in a timely fashion, giving others an opportunity to respond.
b. Is thoughtful with appropriate analysis of the content or question asked.
c. Poses new possibilities or opinions not previously voiced.
d. Ideas are expressed clearly, concisely with appropriate use of vocabulary and attention to spelling and grammar.
e. Spends the time constructing creative, challenging and engaging discussion assignments, which promote participation.
Assessment 2 - Case Study Report
Case Study - Approximately 1,500 words aimed at testing student's understanding at this level and their ability to critically reflect on organisational behaviour.
You must write a Case Study Report, discussing the organisational behaviour characteristics of an organisation. This should draw on learning from modules A & B of this subject. Specifically, you should include at least two of the following: attributes, motivation, empowerment, learning and development. Furthermore, key terms and concepts should be defined wherever possible. Be analytical within your report and examine key terms and theoretical relationships in depth.
The Case Study Report should be written in appropriate business language so that your analysis and discussion have an objective tone. Your writing should be clear and concise and be in your own words. Use headings to guide the reader and include tables or diagrams that make the case clearer.
In a Case Study Report, include the following:
> Introduces the case, including the background and the scenario.
> Describes the purpose and the background of the study and the specific questions you are addressing.
> Describe what you found through your investigations,
e.g. the main themes that came out in interviews, responses to questionnaires, significant observations.
> Explain the significance of the study and what can be learnt from it.
> Note that a case study is a study of a situation so you can't generalise the results to all other situations. That means your report should focus on what can be learnt about that situation and the individuals involved.
> Recommendations provides proposals for future action to solve the problem or improve the situation.
How to present a high-quality scenario case study:
> Analyse the problem
> Provide solutions
> Reveal real business difficulties
> Include specific, quantifiable results
> Build suspense, have a satisfying conclusion
> Solve a business problem
Please take take note for your assignment:
a. Structure the written report: Background information is relevant, Issues are logically ordered, Recommendations clearly relate to the issues.
b. Identify main issues: Prioritise choices, justify and prioritise issues chosen rovide solution.
c. Analyse the issues: Each issue is discussed using relevant concepts and principles. Insight is shown in analysing the information.
d. Discuss alternatives: Consider all viable short term and long-term alternatives to solve each issue. Examine the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
e. Explain resources: Individuals from the case, time frame and monitoring processes required for the recommenda- tions to be put into practice uild suspense,
have a satisfying conclusion.
f. Write clearly and concisely: Arguments are explicit and succinct, appropriate headings are used, grammar and spelling are accurate.
Assessment 3
Reflective and Analytic Report
Guidelines
Reflective and Analytic Report - group level (30%). Working in groups of 3 - 5, students will need to identify a workplace problem and critically analyse the situation, develop a problem solution method and provide recommendations. Students should attempt to choose organisations that are multinational or national as this will make it easier for information to be accessed. The solution method provided should be accompanied with appropriate referencing and theory from the modules within this course. This assess- ment includes two assignments
> a. Workplace Analytic Report: This should draw upon the relevant class material. The group report should be approximately 2,000 words.
> b. Reflective Essay: An individual reflective essay should be approximately 1,000 words.

Part A: Workplace Analytic Report
You must write a Workplace Analytic Report, discussing the organisational behaviour characteristics of an organisa- tion. This should draw on learning from modules A, B and E of this subject. Specifically, you should include at least two of the following: attributes, motivation, empowerment, learning and development. The Workplace Analytic Report should be written in appropriate business language so that your analysis and discussion have an objective tone. words. Use headings to guide the reader and include tables or diagrams that make the case clearer.

Part B: Reflective Essay
The aim of the reflective essay is to demonstrate that you are able to reflect critically on your own learning. This relates to your professional development and reflects back on the work you have just done. You should produce a final (individual not team) written report about how you ap- proached the analysis, and how you dealt with group work. Your writing should be clear and concise and be in your own words. Use headings to guide the reader and include tables or diagrams that make the case clearer.
In a reflective essay, include the following:
• What you have learnt from the analysis.
• What you think will work and what will not work in organisations.
• Discuss new organisation behaviour skills and concepts learnt during the assignment.
• How you would respond to change and difficulties.
• What additional learning and development needs you may have to improve on in your report writing and communication skills.
Assessment 4
Group Presentation
Guidelines
Presentations and Group Debate - organisational level Students will form small groups and develop presentations with their team around a nominated global organisational issue. It is expected you will make use of some areas of analysis and tools that have been covered in this course. This should draw on learning from modules D, E, F of this subject. Specifically, you should include at least two of the following: attributes, motivation, empow- erment, learning and development. These particular types of tools and analysis need to be related back to the course. Furthermore, these types of tools and analysis need to be referenced in the appropriate manner.
The grade for the group presentation will depend on the relevance of the chosen topic, your approach, organization and content, as well as the handout.
