In an effort to maximize the efficiency of a propane barbeque, the oxygen to fuel ratio is altered. In two different trials the following two reactions were observed.

Trial I

C3H8(g) + 5 O2(g) → 3 CO2(g) + 4 H2O(g)

Trial II

2 C3H8(g) + 7 O2(g) → 2C(s) + 2CO(g) + 2CO2(g) + 8 H2O(g)
