1. Review the material in chapter 9 related to proximity, mere exposure, similarity, the matching hypothesis and reciprocity.

2. The antecedents to attraction are all around us. What we see in books, movies, and our own lives are often a direct reflection of what happens when people enter into relationships. Using your favorite romantic novel, play, movie or television program analyze the factors that lead to attraction pointing specifically to examples that show how well the characters from the story demonstrate attraction as a result of proximity, mere exposure, similarity, "matching hypothesis" and reciprocity. Make sure you look for one example of four of the five concepts.

3. A brief essay in which, for each of the 4 concepts, you explain the concept and give us enough detail about the scene that we are able to understand how it applies to the concept you are writing about.
