A factory produces a wastewater stream containing 5 wt% Cr. A treatment unit capable of handling a maximum of 1000 kg/hr is used to extract 90% of the Cr entering the unit outputting a recovery stream of pure Cr. The liquid from the treatment unit is sent to a waste lagoon. One day the plant produces 1200 kg/hr of wastewater and the excess (over the treatment unit capactiy) is sent in a bypass stream and mixed with the liquid stream entering the lagoon. Find the composition and mass flow rate of the liquid stream entering the lagoon.
