The three motivation theories include the Maslow and Herzberg and Locke's theory. Comparing the Maslow theory with the Herzberg, the Maslow theory is known to be organized in a hierarchy or just from the most important to the least important (based on hierarchy of the human needs) while Hertzberg is referred to as hygiene factors and motivation factors. The hygiene factors are always dissatisfies whereas motivation factors tends to motivate subordinates. The Locke's motivational theory is identified to be the theory which treats the goal setting and feedback as equally important. In contrast, the Maslow's theory involves the staff's motivation in satisfying the five needs while the Locke's theory motivates only two needs.
