Manufacturing Planning and Control systems are focused on the Production and Manufacturing side of a company. Companies use them to help with them tracking monitoring and managing their inventories. But that is what their focus and only purpose is, an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) has many more features than that. MPC and MRP’s are part of what an ERP software offers, it covers all of a companies database functions. Financial management, inventory control, customer databases, supply chain management and even HR functions all offered in one software. Small companies with big inventories might benefit more from using a MPC and using another software for the sales and financials. Versus these big corporations who are better suited to need a ERP to serve their needs.
