However, its own internal information systems are badly in need of an upgrade. You have been hired as part of the project team to upgrade their Order Entry System.The team learned the following during requirements gathering. Orders are received from customers by mail, phone, or Internet. Each time an order is received, it is checked to make sure each book identified in the order is carried by Meredith Publishing. This check can be made by doing a lookup on the book database. The customer is notified if the book is not carried. Another check is to make sure the customer exists in the customer database. If this is a new customer, then the order entry process needs to add the customer’s information to the customer database. Assuming the order is for books carried by Meredith Publishing, a confirmation notice is sent to the customer and the order is added to the order database. Management receives a daily report summarizing orders received.
