The most important challenges for both the unions and the management in a union work place is the lack of flexibility. As per the union the workers will work under the listed number of hours inspire of a much work load and they have the break time which is also not negotiated. Another problem is that the employees only perform one duty which they are assigned and do not take part in any other task. Communication gap also prevails. In a non union workplace, management is the supreme power. All the decisions are taken by the management whether it is of working hour, wages, promotions etc. The challenges are overpowered as now the employees are more aware about their rights and duties and the influence upon their working is less.

How might unions enhance flexibility if that is one of the most problematic aspects of being in a union shop??
