Giving a presentation is an inevitable part of being in business, and it is not just the domain of extroverts, salespeople and management. Staff in all areas of the business need presentation skills to get their point across articulately and visually. Technology can be your best friend when you are called upon to give a presentation internally or to clients.
You are called upon by your Human Resource Director to report a few issues surrounding a particular human resource management topic in order to gain some insights as to how to manage your company's human resources more effectively and efficiently. However, your director only has 3 minutes because they are very busy.
Therefore, to maximise your impact, you have to present the topic in a concise yet convincing fashion within 3 minutes that covers:
• the causes of the human resource management issue
• the effects on the company's HR management practices
• your recommended solutions.
This is not easy because you need to grab your director's attention throughout the 3 minutes by using a good structure, effective visual aids (colours, sounds and slide designs), varying tones and body language. However, you know you need to convince the director in order to sell your brilliant ideas.
Presentation
For this assessment, you need to produce video content. You will produce 3 minute video presentation.
• The parts of the presentation should include:
o an introduction
o a cause analysis
o an effect analysis
o recommendations
o evaluations of recommendations
o a conclusion

Step 1: choose ONE of the following topics to research and use as the focus for your presentation video. Some of the topics fall under many areas of management (Planning, Organising, Leading and Controlling, or PLOC). Note, you do not have to cover all of the different areas mentioned within each topic, these are just suggestions for you to consider.
• Topic 1: Motivation (PLOC - retention, productivity, reward)
• Topic 2: Workforce Capability (PLOC - retention, training & development, reward, succession, productivity)
• Topic 3: Teams (PLOC - morale, productivity, effectiveness, leadership)
• Topic 4: Wellbeing (PLOC - WHS, Flexibility, morale, culture, productivity, sick leave, turnover)
• Topic 5: Workplace harassment (PLOC - WHS, morale, culture, leadership, legislation, communication, procedures)
Step 2: Conduct your research and analyse the causes and effects of your chosen topic in relation to human resource management. Review and research:
• the unit's weekly content and resources relevant to your chosen topic
• academic research journals or quality business sources. Remember each person needs to use seven quality academic resources to support their writing and presentation
• make sure you keep a record of the collection of resources and screenshots of key processes that you completed for this assignment (for example, screenshot of your search and retrieval of journal articles, and so on).
Step 3: generate recommendations relevant to your analysis and evaluate them.
Step 4: Create your presentation slides using the PowerPoint template provided.
