Assessment Specific Instructions
1. Research
2. The student is required to use academic books, journals, and companies' websites to support the points in this open book assignment.
3. This assignment requires the use of secondary data only. The student will conduct secondary research about selected real or realistic organisation.
4. Ensure all research used is adequately referenced using the APA referencing standard.
5. All answers must be in your own words, i.e. please do not use too many quotes, but describe, analyse and comment.
Structure and Formatting
1. The assessment provides the student with word limits for each task. Please note the word limit is a guide only and should give the student an idea concerning the scope, depth and detail of discussion required.
2. The assignment should be word processed in black and white, with the main text in 12 point Times New Roman/Calibri, left aligned, with 6 point paragraph spacing, 1.5 ‘line spacing' on A4 size paper, portrait format (left margin minimum 3cm, right margin minimum 2cm).

Practical Assignment

Scenario:
Healthy Mothers (HM) is a new initiative by Ministry of Health (MoH). It will be run under two district Health boards 1) Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) and 2) Counties Manukau Health Board (CMDHB). It is a FREE public health initiative to prevent maternally and child obesity by improving nutrition and physical activity in mothers. The goal is to promote health and well-being of pregnant women, women with children under 4yrs, and their whanau (families) and communities through improved nutrition and increased levels of physical activity. This programme is run for four minor groups of Auckland including Pacifica, Maori, South Asians, and Asians including Chinese, with the help of four community organisations including 1) The Fono, 2) West Health 3) TANI and 4) CNSST.
You are the operations manager of the TANI (The Asian Network Inc.) and is responsible to effectively run this programme for the above mentioned communities in Aotearoa New Zealand by accessing a variety of internal and external resources.
You need to perform a variety of operations under HM that includes:
1. Promotional activities that can attract eligible mothers to enrol in HM and its services.
2. A healthy conversation with enrolled participants including their health assessment, healthy lifestyle plan and review.
3. Run a community learning programme (CLP) that educate the enrolled participant on different health topics.
4. Refer mothers to different health services available in Auckland.
5. Prepare monthly progress and quarterly evaluation reports.
6. Run appropriate meeting with internal and external stakeholders including an operational Hui at the end of each quarter.

Task 1 (2000 words)

Develop a plan to conduct HM activities which covers acquisition and management of the materials and resources. The resources should include but not limited to be human, physical and technological resources. In doing this, you should apply knowledge of operations, accounting, sales and marketing, human resources and risk management as appropriate.

One challenge should be identified and solved in the way that is relevant.

The planning must address resource management and tools and techniques to carry out as follows:

LO 2a
5. Meetings with internal and external stakeholders. In this activity you are required to plan a meeting with stakeholders to manage resources required for your HM project. In doing this you need to identify one resource and explain how you would engage both stakeholders to manage/acquire this resource.

Must include minimum 4 relevant items (2 items for each stakeholder).
Marks will be given for valid ideas and suggestions to be discussed with stakeholders.

Instructions to the Task 1:
1. The resource should be appropriate to carry out operations as given in the scenario.
2. Identification and management of the resource should be explained and justified with minimum word count of 400 words.

Task 2 Discuss examples of professional, ethical, social and culturally appropriate behaviour that you demonstrated in managing organisational resources.

B. Discuss how you would introduce ritual and rites into organisational culture to ensure efficient use and management of organisational resources. Support your answer with 2 examples.

Task 3
One of the aspects of the HM initiative is to educate breastfeeding mothers about their rights as reflected in the Human Rights Act [HRA]. You are required to develop a booklet that would be used by your organisation and participants in the HM initiative to ensure that organisational resources are used in compliance with the HRA.
The booklet should provide information on how human resource staff could help breastfeeding mothers if being discriminated at work.
