Research typical organisation's human resources policies and procedures relevant to professional development.

Task 2.1 Develop and maintain professional competence

This task focuses on you and requires you to:
• Determine your IKIGAI
• Develop a personal mission statement
• Develop a career plan
• Seek feedback on development needs
• Evaluate your SKAsneeds
• Create a personal development plan
• Select and complete two (2) development activities

A. IKIGAI

Complete the IKIGAI activity.

"Your ikigai is at the intersection of what you are good at and what you love doing," says Hector Garcia, the co-author of Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life.

Ikigai is seen as the convergence of four primary elements:
• What you love (your passion)
• What the world needs (your mission)
• What you are good at (your vocation)
• What you can get paid for (your profession)
Determine your IKIGA using Template 1.

B. Personal Mission Statement
Develop your mission statement. What do you stand for?What is important to you?

C. Career Plan
Develop a career plan (Template 2).
2-4 long-term goals (5-10 years); 6-8 short-term goals (1-5 years).
In your plan, consider both your current job and your career goals/aspirations.

D. Feedback about development needs

1. Consult with three (3) people who know you well (friends, family or colleagues) and ask them to provide feedback about two (2) of your professional development needs. What do they think that you should develop or improve?
Document the feedback received in the table provided below.
2. Provide evidence of consultation.
Evidence may include, for instance, the screenshot of the feedback email received, a texting thread showing the feedback, a picture showing consultation etc.
Document the evidence ( one piece of evidence/feedback received) in the space provided below.

E. SKA Matrix
Use a SKA Matrix (Template 3) to evaluate your development needs.
Include 4-6 skillsneeds, 3-5 knowledge needs, 2-3 attribute needs.
Consider the competency standards required to meet your current job role requirements and achieve your career goals.
F. Personal Development Plan
Create a personal development plan (Template 4).
Include 5-8 development needs. Determine the priority of each.

G. Development activities
Identify, select, and participate in two (2) suitable personal and professional development activities to address identified development needs. You will have to complete the activities by the end of week 4 of class.
Select free activities unless you have a dedicated budget for professional development.
Examples of activities may include:
• Online training
• Coaching from an instructor or manager
• F2F training
• Networking
• Reading
Provide evidence of participation and completion of the professional development activities.
Evidence may include:
• Certificate of completion/participation
• Feedback from your coach
• Summary of reading
• Photographic evidence

Assessment Task 3

Task 3 - Manage goal development and facilitate work priorities

Task summary
You are the HR Manager at MMI Professional Education (refer to Appendix 1).

The CEO asked you to manage a task force comprising:

• HR Manager
• Marketing Officer
• Client Services Manager

to complete the following work task: develop an organisational framework to support team health and wellbeing in the workplace.

The framework must include:

• A summary of the proposed techniques and initiatives to support team health and wellbeing in the workplace
• An action plan to implement the proposed initiatives
• A code of conduct about health and wellbeing in the workplace in a PowerPoint format

When working in collaboration with the team:

• Identify and agree on team roles and responsibilities to complete the work tasks
• Develop an action plan
• Assess and prioritise team and organisational demands
• Work collaboratively
• Complete the work tasks as instructed

Having a clear vision of the requirements of this task will help you plan and implement it in simulated work conditions.

Your trainer and assessor will provide support and mentorship in the role of CEO.

You will work in a group of max three students. You will lead the group taking turns as instructed. The trainer and assessor will observe the group work and provide feedback on the Marking Sheet.

You will collaborate with the group in a simulated work environment to carry out your role as a task force leader.

Please note that the performance evidence of this unit require you to manage the personal and professional development of at least two other individuals.
This assessment has been designed to meet that requirement.

This task comprises of the following assessment methods:

It has been designed to evaluate your ability to/competency in:

• Document team member responsibilities and identify organisational framework for development of work goals
• Support others to develop work goals, plans and activities that align with their responsibilities

• Facilitate access to personal and professional development opportunities that align to team member goals, plans and activities
• Assess and prioritise personal, team and organisational demands
• Use technology to manage work priorities of the team
• Identify and implement techniques to manage team health and wellbeing in the workplace

You are required to address the following:

Task 3.1 Plan teamwork

Work in collaboration with the team to complete the tasks below.
A. Roles and Responsibilities
Meet with the task force in week 3 of class and determine and agree on team roles and responsibilities to complete the work tasks.

B. Team Charter
Develop a team charter for the task force.

C. Action Plan
Develop a team action plan to complete the work tasks assigned by the CEO to the team.
Please refer to Task 3.3 for a breakdown of the work the task force must accomplish:
• A summary of the proposed techniques and initiatives to support team health and wellbeing in the workplace
• An action plan to implement the proposed initiatives
• A code of conduct about health and wellbeing in the workplace in a PowerPoint format
Use the table below to document the action plan.
Assign a priority number to each task. What should be done first? What is urgent? What is more important?

D. Use technology
Use a digital tool of choice (for example, an online calendar or a scheduling app) to organise and prioritise team members' tasks and commitments according to the team action plan.

Task 3.2 Work plans and development needs

A. Individual Work Plan and reflection on development needs
Develop an individual work plan to complete the tasks assigned to you within the task force:
• Identify 2-3 goals of your role in the task force.
• Determine two actions/task per goal.
• Determine 1 KPI for each action/task.
• Determine two (2) development needs to carry out your role in the task force. Consider that each task force member could be assigned a budget of a max of $1,000 for professional development.
B. Support others to develop work plans
Schedule a time with the trainer and assessor in week 4 of class.
This is a role-play where you will play the role of the task force leader.
Please note that the trainer and assessor will validate your active participation in the Role-Play and provide feedback on the marking sheet.
Duration: 15-20 minutes.
1. Meet with the task force members to:
• Review their individual work plans
• Provide expert advice to assist with the development and finalisation of their work plans
• Make sure that their work plans align with the goals of the task force
• Provide feedback about their training plans
• Facilitate access to personal and professional development by:
o Approving the training budget
o Advising on training opportunities/options
o Recommending additional training (example: mentoring or coaching from you)
Please note, you must review two (2) work plans; hence, if your task force comprises two students only, you will have to organise a third classmate to play a member of the task force.
2. Document your work during the role-play in the table provided below.
C. Feedback from the team members

1. Ask the two team members to provide feedback(Template 4) about your performance as a task force leader during the role-play.
2. Provide evidence of the completion of the feedback forms (2) in the space provided below. (Example: a screenshot of the completed feedback forms).

Task 3.3 Work delivery

In collaboration with the team, complete the following tasks.
1. Determine techniques and initiatives to support team health and wellbeing in the workplace (6-8). They must include the workshop and the code of conduct you must complete as part of the CEO's assigned work task.
2. Develop an action plan (Template 2) to implement the initiatives listed above in the organisation.
Assign a priority number to each task.

3. Develop a Code of Conduct relevant to health and wellbeing in the workplace in a PowerPoint format.

The PowerPoint must include:
• 2 key principles of health and wellbeing in the workplace
• 3 behaviours or actions to support team health and wellbeing in the workplace
Instructions:
• One slide/principle, behaviour or action
• Engaging presentation, think outside the box
• Represent your content visually with images
• Add some humour
• Create a professionally presented and engaging PowerPoint
Submit the PowerPoint with your assessment.
