Tasks

Objectives:

1. Manage database network (client/ server) connections using Database Net Services

2. Implementing Database security policies

In the college database lab, consider any two computer systems as clients, and a third computer system as a server. Establish client/server connectivity between the two clients and the server. Create a student database table Student_YourID( StID, StName, Course) on server; insert records from both the clients to save in the table (Student_YourID).

Your solution must include brief explanation of the steps in establishing the client/server connectivity and the screenshots of the steps and SQL commands.

3a Consider you are working as a Database Administrator (DBA) in a certain large organization. Protecting data is one of your major tasks in the day-to-day operations. As a DBA, discuss various steps you would take to ensure proper planning of the database instance redo logs.

Your solution must include the relevant SQL commands and screenshots. The solution must be written in a maximum of 3 pages.

3b Prepare a presentation in Week 13 for any one of the following topics:
• Security policies
• Authentication methods
• Blockchain Technology.

Note:
• Detailed solution should be written for the topic chosen for presentation. The solution for task-3 (3a and 3b) must be written in a maximum of 5 pages.
• You must upload the solutions of task-2, task-3a and task-3b in one MS Word document.
• Duration of presentation is 10 minutes
• Prepare a separate presentation file of 8-10 slides to be used during presentation.
• Time of presentation will be informed to you later (based on the Session timings).
