Jessie Hernandez (pronouns: she/her) was brought to the emergency department by her parents Monday at 2000, for what they described as "strange behavior that they couldn't deal with anymore." Jessie returned three months ago from her second deployment in the Middle East. The scenario takes place in the Emergency Room on Monday at 2200. Jessie is waiting for transfer to the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit where she is admitted for treatment and evaluation of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bipolar disorder. During this scenario, students will have the opportunity to assess, intervene and manage care for a patient experiencing psychotic episodes.
