Question: Throughout the semester you will be presented with a number of different concepts that you can use to make your presentations more effective and dynamic. Although preparing, practicing and giving your own presentations is crucial to your development as a speaker, analyzing the concepts in action in other people's presentations provides a lot of opportunities for learning as well. This semester you are encouraged to seek out, or simply pay more attention to, the presentations others around you are giving and then assess where the speakers are effectively employing (or not) the concepts from the course.

This forum is a place where you can upload a link to a presentation that has caught your attention either for its effective or ineffective use of one or more of the course concepts (e.g. unique delivery style, effective structure or development, use of storytelling or another rhetorical strategy, etc.).

In order to earn full bonus marks for an initial post, you need to provide a clear explanation that tells us what to pay attention to (e.g. story, which starts at 2:03) and in at least 150-250 words describe why you felt it was worth commenting on (e.g. what was the impact on the speech overall or you as a listener). Also remember, that you can respond to a classmate's post to earn bonus marks as well; however, your comments need to show that you watched the relevant part of the speech and they need to add value to the discussion.
