Case Scenario:
The Scottish Pipe Company is a manufacturer of pipe and pipe fittings. They have offices in Kansas City, Kansas, Salt Lake City, Utah and Phoenix, Arizona. The Kansas City office is the corporate headquarters. They have approximately 20 computers at each location with all databases and servers located in Kansas City HQ's. They use dial-up access between each office. Each office has a few employees that work with laptops.
Management is concerned with the amount of time it takes for users to log in and to access servers once they are on the network. They are also concerned with their ability to survive a disaster and would like redundancy in their network together with gaining a more secure environment. Wireless access to the office network and the Internet is also needed within each building.
The Company has hired you to design a network that would address the above concerns.

LAN Design
Since each site is essentially the same. Make your network design using any program like Microsoft Visio or "Draw.io" to show the following: Show how the office will connect to the LAN and also to the Internet. Show how you would connect the 20 computers and a few printers to the network and how the laptop users can have wireless access to the Internet. Also, show what type of LAN topology you would use and show redundancy for the network. Show a level of security for each location. There will be three departments/organizational units (HR, Customer Service and Manufacturing) in each office. Divide the LAN into three subnets and show the addressing scheme for each (remember the different Classes: A, B & C and the Network ID and the Host ID). Show the method/device used to keep your private address secure while accessing the Public Network (NAT and Firewall). Show the servers that would be used (DC, DNS, DHCP). Also, as part of the disaster recovery you should show redundancy, battery backup etc.
