Robert has been a successful salesperson in your clothing store. You are his manager. He enjoys working here, has a positive attitude, and enjoys an excellent relationship with his peers. He often goes out socially with the other employees during off time. You recently promoted Robert to an assistant manager position. He is having a difficult time asserting his new position with the employee because they are not taking him seriously. They still consider Robert a friend and not a manager.
