You are 100% accurate when you make the statement about communication. A good leader has to effectively know how to communicate. There has to be clear consistent communication from the entire team. But the leader has got to lead by example. When I was in management and I had employees who were trained by me, I would always tell my employees that I would never ask them to do anything that I wouldn't do. As their leader I always wanted my staff to know that I was a fair person and that I was really big on communication. We had a communication log that everyone on every shift had to communicate in with the other staff and management. Every staff was responsible at the beginning of their shift to read all the communication notes all the way back to their last shift worked and initial each note written in the log to ensure that they read everything. This way everyone is on the same page at all times.
