Prompt: "Writing for College" Scenario #1 (Page 78) A Memoir about the Impact of a Teacher. For this essay, you need to write about a teacher who made the greatest impact on you as a student, and as a person.

You must choose the essay option I have provided for this assignment . If you submit an essay that does not respond to one of the prompts, your essay will not be accepted as an appropriate response to this writing assignment; instead, you will be asked to write another essay that does respond to the prompt you were assigned.

The first draft of your Descriptive Essay (500 words minimum) is due Wednesday, May 13, 2015. The final draft is due Sunday, May 17, 2015.

Be sure to reference your Lectures - Week Two folder for helpful information on descriptive writing.

Please note: I strongly recommend that you produce a first draft before your assignment's due date. This draft will be reviewed, and returned to you, with ample time to make the necesesary modifications and changes by the final draft due date.Your final draft will then be graded, and that will be your final grade for the assignment. If you do not submit a first draft, the grade that you receive on your final draft is final.

You should edit your first draft PRIOR to your first submission. There is no reason your first draft should contain grammatical and spelling errors. You will be penalized for careless errors. Writing is a process. You will get out of your writing experience what you put in it. Editing is a very important part of the writing process. This means that you should take your time to write and edit your first draft BEFORE you submit it. Be sure to follow the recommendations in Chapters 1 and 2 of your course book.
