Question: We still have a long way to go in terms of social justice in today's society with regard to women's rights, Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ, etc. These social justice organizations put a lot of effort into promoting and upholding fairness and equity in a variety of societal contexts. I've noticed a pattern in the social justice system: we begin on the right foot, but the system ultimately fails us. Like the system was set up to let us down in some way. Askoa stated that "women also face gender-specific hazards from police encounters-sexual harassment, assault, strip searches, and harm of children in their care" in the article "Interview with BLM founders." We as women are undervalued, and this article demonstrates how social justice organizations like BLM are championing black males. But what about our women? Are we indoctrinating the next generation with the idea that it is acceptable to ignore women and just support and defend our men? In the end, everything points to how crucial intercultural communication is. Whether we're discussing racism, women's rights, or sexual orientaion we need to be able to comprehend and communicate clearly in order to make changes that truly benefit everyone.
