1. How a business owner defines their product, and how this may make a difference in customer satisfaction. Develop a good outline on this idea.

2. Job interviews and how well they do or don't determine if a person is a good fit for a job. Studies show they can tend to be ineffective at determining if someone will perform well on a job. Think about reasons this may be the case. What can managers do to improve the interview process?

3. Think about the mission statement of a company. You can even look up the mission statements for your favorite companies. Think about which ones stand out to you and why. Is it because they were simple or did they have compelling wording, did they make you feel something, were they clear, etc.

4. Motivation theories. Taking these into account, think about how and why the role of management has changed and restructured over the past two decades, and how it might continue to change going forward. Think about different managers you've had, or if you are a manager, how you've had to adjust over the years to fit your employee's motivation needs.
