In health care, resistance is met when caring for the vulnerable with mental health and Substance Use Disorders, who often cannot advocate for themselves.

By working together, advocates can create a solid coalition to advocate for change successfully. However, the methods could have some limitations, and one potential limitation of this approach is that it may not be effective in all instances. For example, suppose there is resistance from those affected by the policy or practice is improved. In that case, advocates may not be able to generate enough support to make a difference.
